Third International Anti-imperialist Conference

at Dhaka, Bangladesh on November 27-29, 2011

In the backdrop of savage imperialist attacks on Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Libya, the heinous machinations and threats of regime change in Syria and Iran, blockades against Cuba and North Korea, the 3rd International Anti-imperialist Conference of International Anti-imperialist and People’s Solidarity Coordinating Committee (IAPSCC) jointly organized with Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) is going to be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Open Inaugural Session of the Conference will be held on November 27 and the Delegates Sessions will be held on November 28 and 29. The theme of the Conference is “ IMPERIALIST ATTACK : Economic, Political, Cultural and Military Aggression and Occupation, with special reference to imperialist attack and aggression in Latin America, Middle East, Afghanistan, Cuba and DPRK.”
Delegates from Bangladesh and from different countries, including, USA, Canada, Venezuela, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), France, Ghana, Mauritius, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal will attend the Conference. The delegates will discuss the many faces of imperialist aggression, share their experiences of struggle, and deliberate on the ways and means of building up global coordinated movement against imperialism and developing solidarity among the anti-imperialist fighters in different countries. Dhaka is an appropriate venue for holding this anti-imperialist Conference, because Bangladesh is a victim of imperialist intrigues and exploitation of its natural resources (Petroleum, Natural Gas, Coal and Water) and cheap labour by the corporate houses of the imperialist powers, particularly USA and neighbouring India. The Conference will be inaugurated at 10 a.m. on November 27, at the open air field adjoining Mahanagar Natyamancha, Dhaka, through an Open session by Ramsey Clark, former Attorney General of USA and well-known campaigner against imperialist attacks. The inaugural Open Session will also be addressed by Manik Mukherjee, General Secretary of IAPSCC, Khalequzzaman, General Secretary of SPB, Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Chairman of Unified Communist Party of Nepal, S K Mohammad Shahidullah, Convener of National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Port, from Bangladesh, and delegates from North Korea, Lebanon, Syria and Sudan. The Delegates Sessions will be held in two parallel meets at the Mahanagar Natyamancha Hall and Shilpakala Academy Hall on November 28-29, 2011. The themes of the different Delegates Sessions are : Economic and Cultural Attack of Imperialism, Military Attack of Imperialism, Imperialist Globalization and its All-out Attack, Imperialist Domination and Exploitation in South-East Asia, Crisis of World Capitalism-Imperialism and Task Ahead. Finally, at the end of the Conference the Dhaka Declaration against Imperialism would be discussed and adopted. This Conference would be an important milestone in the fight against imperialist camp headed by USA and its cohorts.
IAPSCC expresses its solidarity with people’s movement against capitalism-imperialism all over the globe, notably “Occupy Wall Street” movement of USA, and in its wake massive people’s demonstrations against capitalism-imperialism in Europe, and popular revolt in Egypt. The call of the Conference to the people of all the countries, and particularly of the host country Bangladesh, is to sharpen and strengthen the movements against imperialism and to strive for coordination of these movements so that a mighty current of global anti-imperialist movement can be released. Only concerted, militant, global anti-imperialist movement can stop the naked onslaught of imperialist powers in different corners of the globe.
Manik Mukherjee, General Secretary, IAPSCC
Khalequzzaman, Secretariat Member, IAPSCC
Mobinul Hayder Choudhury, Member IAPSCC
