Bahrain International eGovernment Forum
Dates: May 25, 2009 - May 27, 2009
The Bahrain International e-Government Forum assembles GCC and international experts to discuss and debate the key issues and future directions in e-Government. This is a unique opportunity to learn from e-Government practitioners, and to investigate the GCC e-Government market.

In an increasingly online world, more and more government information and services are being delivered electronically - delivering major economic benefits for business, government, and the country.

Bringing services online was the first step in revolutionizing the way in which government offered their products and services to the general public and the business community. The next steps are bigger and more complex - looking at creating and combining different data sources and functionalities, streamlining information and communication processes and making it easy and widely accessible, but at the same time protecting and securing it from abuse.

Bringing together the very latest solutions and the brightest minds in government and industry, the Bahrain International e-Government Exhibition and Forum is the most important event you’ll attend all year. You will get the right information to help you strategize and make the right decisions.

Through this event you can:

- Learn from the strategies and visions that have led to success

- Understand the key issues including privacy, security, information management and client uptake

- Network with industry leaders and build new business relationships for GCC and other markets

- Identify the road ahead - objectives and plans for future e-Government initiatives

The partnership between the eGovernment Authority (EGA), Bahrain Information Technology Society (BITS), Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) and Bahrain Internet Society (BIS) ensures a high level audience for the e-Government Forum consisting of senior government representatives, top Chief Information Officers, and Executives from around the world. This Forum will bring together the people that shape the future of e-Government in Bahrain and the GCC.

Online Video Will Gain Ad Business from TV, YouTube Founder Says
Chad Hurley, co-founder of YouTube, says the online video advertising market will emerge a winner from the global economic downturn as companies seek cheaper, more precise ways to promote their products, Reuters reports.
Hurley, who is also president of YouTube (which is owned by Google), said the rapid growth in demand for online videos means his website was reaching larger, more valuable audiences, Ben Hirschler writes.
"People are making smarter decisions about how they are spending their money," Hurley said. "They are going to move it from something (television) that isn't as measurable ... and get it in front of an audience of the same size for a fraction of the cost."
