New7Wonders of Nature PANEL OF EXPERTS
NOW DELIBERATING ON 28 FINALISTS
On July 21, 28 will move ahead to 3rd and final stage—
then all power is with the global public

Zurich/Switzerland, July 15, 2009—From the original 441 nominations from 222 countries, an elite 28 will remain after the announcement at 12.07 GMT of the 28 Official Finalist Candidates in the global race to choose the Official New7Wonders of Nature. Millions of people on all continents, of all ages and social groups, have participated in the first two stages of this groundbreaking campaign. Building on the tremendous success of the Official New 7 Wonders of the World campaign, which was the first-ever global election and garnered more than 100 million votes, the current global movement is well on track to log some 1 billion votes in total.

The New7Wonders Panel of Experts, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Federico Mayor, former Director-General of UNESCO, is currently deliberating on the selection of the 28 Finalists. The identities of the 6 other experts on the N7W Panel will be revealed at the same time as the Finalists themselves on July 21.

July 21—the day awaited by millions worldwide
The 28 Official Finalist Candidates will be announced at the New7Wonders Foundation headquarters in Zurich on July 21, at 7 minutes past noon GMT.

No media will be allowed to cover the announcement ceremony itself—for television footage and photographs, media are asked to contact Reuters and AP. Select interview slots will be available with Bernard Weber, Founder and President of New7Wonders, and media are asked to contact Tia Viering with interview requests as soon as possible.
