Pass the International Violence against Women Act and protect women from violence worldwide.

, we can make something incredible happen!

The International Violence Against Women Act (IVAWA) has been scheduled for "mark-up" in the Senate. This is a critical phase that must happen before a bill is turned into law.

Tomorrow, a clear majority of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee must support IVAWA before it can move forward to be voted on by all members of the Senate and House of Representatives.

We may never have another chance like this one to provide safeguards for women at risk of abuses such as domestic violence, rape, acid attacks and human trafficking!

Please send an urgent message to your Senator asking him or her to support IVAWA.

We are so proud of the 33 Senators who have already stepped up to pledge their support for IVAWA. Most recently, Senators Dianne Feinstein (CA), Bernard Sanders (VT) and Blanche Lincoln (AR) have joined our calls for greater protections of women's human rights.

And after the powerful hearing on Capitol Hill two weeks ago, where survivors and advocates, like Rose Mapendo, told members of Congress in person about their experiences with violence against women, we're confident that more Senators and Representatives will be inspired to act.

Ask your Senator to be a voice for women's rights worldwide by supporting IVAWA.

Grey's Anatomy actress and Amnesty International spokesperson, Samantha Mathis, also joined us at the hearing to deliver this impassioned plea:

I experienced the tragic consequences of violence, and came face-to-face with the horror of brutal murders of women, when I met with the family members of victims of femicide in Guatemala. We cannot stand by and tolerate horrific acts of violence any longer.

Don't let your member of Congress be the one who stands on the sidelines, tolerating these hateful crimes. We can fight back against this abuse.

If we work together, we can stop violence against women!

Please act now.
