Sensible politics and rightsizing the soul of democracy in Bangladesh.

Dear All,

A country's fate is sealed when democracy enters a dark dungeon while democracy is about enlightenment, dialog and rational policy making for the good of the people and the country at large. In Bangladesh, it is hard to progress as a nation of esteem without a proper democracy and rule of law. Democracy by the people, for the people and of the people is necessary to overcome the national crisis in Bangladesh. Otherwise, the institutions like Elections Commission, Judiciary, Public Service Commission, etc. will be a grand waste of public money. Bangladesh needs to repose its trust in its people and only its people by ushering in a principled democracy worth striving for. What we have now is its shell. What we need is the soul of democracy to return to the shell and live to be a democratic country. The urgency for a proper democracy is the need of the hour. The longer we wait, the greater the walk to freedom, social justice and effective citizens' rights. Bangladesh will rise again. The primary purpose of all sensible political parties' main agenda should be to promote a democratic Bangladesh. Let us re-weave the fabric of Bangladesh based on democratic values, rule of law and contained corruption. Let us unite for a better hashtag#Bangladesh and let us take the motto 'country first.'
