Dear Concerns [On
behalf of CARE, Muktidooth Media reproducing]

In eastern Chad ,
CARE staff emerge from a temporary warehouse with arms full of something
incredibly precious.
Cereals, lentils,
cooking oil, sugar and salt: they're just the basics, but for families
without enough food for their children, these staples are literally
life-changing.
Every day, CARE staff
on the ground see real people facing real and serious needs like hunger, thirst
and disease. We're doing whatever it takes to get practical solutions like food
staples or high-nutrient supplements to the families who need them most, but
the crisis in Chad and the
rest of Western Africa is deepening by the day
and we desperately need your help.
In the Sahel region
just south of the Sahara desert, food stocks
are depleted – and the whole region is suffering through a food crisis.
According to a recent field study, 100% of families surveyed in two hard hit regions in Niger say they
have already cut back on the food they eat each day. There's simply not enough to eat.
Khadija Mohamad, 24,
has three sons. Her fields produced a measly crop, and because so little is
available, food is now 4 times more expensive. She's been forced to cut down
rations and give her young sons only two meals a day.
"Here, we
suffer," she says. Around the world, women just like her are experiencing
the same pangs of need – and all that is necessary is a little help so that
they can create their own success
stories.
Thank you, again, for
all of your help. With your support, we can reach even remote and difficult
communities with essential, lifesaving supplies.
Sincerely,
